Selena Gomez has had a barrage of rude comments on her Instagram surrounding her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber and his speedy engagement to Hailey Baldwin. The Back to You singer has 143 million followers on Instagram, making her one the most followed people on the app. Despite her following, Selena has taken a break from Instagram before and is now taking another one due to "negative comments".
Selena originally posted this photo to her Instagram captioned, "Mood lol (I was looking at myself in the mirror -like an idiot!)" Later she posted an update, writing, "Update: taking a social media break. Again."
Since Hailey and Justin's wedding rumors began, the "Same Old Love" singer has had a share of comments related to the two on her Instagram.
The singer, 26, previously dated Justin, 24, for years on and off before Hailey, 21. Selena continued to write in her post, "As much as I am grateful for the voice that social media gives each of us, I am equally grateful to be able to step back and live my life present to the moment I have been given."
In the same Instagram post, Selena asked for encouragement, "Kindness and encouragement only for a bit! Just remember- negative comments can hurt anybody’s feelings. Obvi."
But when she posted her hiatus news, she mostly got love. One user commented, "Take as much time as you need, your happiness is important since you're a beautiful person from inside and out who doesn't deserve hate❤❤." Other Selena fans had a similar outpouring of love.
