Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello are desperate for a baby, but starting a family has not exactly gone according to planned!
The 42-year-old previously admitted she is totally willing to have a baby as soon as possible. “Joe is younger than me. He’s 38. He’s never had kids. How am I going to say no? I tell him if we’re going to do this, we have to do it, like, now, because I don’t want to be 50 with a baby,” she told Redbook.
But a source told OK! that unfortunately, the natural route wasn’t working for the pair. “Sofia and Joe have tried relentlessly for her to get pregnant.” So they had to choose a different course of action!

“She chose the surrogate route because he wants children and was getting very frustrated by her not conceiving,” added the insider.
The source revealed he is “bothered slightly by the fact that he will never get to experience the whole process of his wife’s pregnancy and the special bond that it would have given them.”
