'Southern Charm' Star Kathryn Dennis Admits That She 'Made Mistakes And Wanted To Be Held Accountable' For Actions During Child Custody Battle

Kathryn Dennis made an important proclamation in a new interview when it comes to motherhood. The Southern Charm star admitted that she made a few mistakes when it comes to her two children Kensie, 5, and son Saint, 3, amid her custody battle with ex Thomas Ravenel.

Kathryn, 26, confessed that her kids saved her life after she lost custody of them back in 2016 after failing a drug test.

The reality star got candid with People about getting sober after Saint's birth. She admitted that she “needed to change.”

“I made mistakes and wanted to be held accountable,” she told the outlet.

The Charleston, SC, native entered treatment in 2016 after testing positive for marijuana. Since then, she and Thomas, 56, have joint custody of their kids. But in October 2018, the ex-couple found themselves back in the courtroom when she filed documents to obtain primary custody of her kids after Thomas was arrested and charged with sexual assault.

“Staying sober, putting 100 percent into being the best mom, and learning the court system got me to an even playing field,” Kathryn added.

Kathryn has been very focused on her sobriety and keeping her family together. “Whenever I lose sight of what’s important, I just think about my children,” she revealed. “No matter what your struggle is, you really will do anything to protect your children.”

“My family means everything to me,” Kathryn gushed. “They’re like my angels. They saved me in so many ways.”
