Star Trek Child Star 'Jonny P. Jewels' Dies Suddenly At 33

Jon Steuer aka Jonny P. Jewels, former child star who played Worf's son on Star Trek: The Next Generation, has passed away. Click through for details about his death.

Jonny's cause of death has not yet been confirmed, according to Portland's Williamette Week. His last post on Instagram was on Dec. 28. He posed with friends, writing "These are the joys of oi//boys."

The former child actor was also the frontman of the mid-aughts power-pop band the Soda Pop Kids. He was living in Portland when he died.

In addition to Star Trek: The Next Generation, Jonny appeared in Little Giants. He also starred in the '90s sitcom Grace Under Fire. His experience on that show caused him to quit acting at just 12 years old.

"I had never really gotten into acting for the stardom or the fame or the attention," Jonny told The AV Club in 2015. "I did it because I liked acting. That show brought a lot of press and attention around me and my personal life. I was right on the cusp of puberty, going through that awkward stage. To be put under a microscope like that is kind of a bizarre addition to your life that obviously not a lot of other people can relate to."

Jonny was just 33 years old when he passed away.
