Tamera, Adam and Alaina's father recalled the dreadful day of the California shooting and revealed that Alaina was the youngest of the 12 slain. Tamera had spent the day tirelessly searching for her niece and prayed that she would be alive.

Arik opened up about losing his daughter. "I lost it. My wife, Hanna, and I, we lost it." He said, "We're going to bury her in four days. I should not have to do that."

The sad reality of losing someone you love is familiar to Adam. He added, "I've been to these things, Lee. You have. You've covered these things, you go home and you sit there and you're like, my gosh, how are these people going to get through it?" Alaina's uncle said. "And now we're living it."

The family believed that Alaina would have wanted to dive deeper than politics regarding gun control. Adam said, "If I was to walk out of here and the first thing I said was, 'Gun control,' guess what? Half the country (snaps fingers), conversation ends." "And we don't want the conversation to end," Tamera added. "It can't this time," said Adam. "We want it to continue."
