Ashley Graham knows how to throw a party. The supermodel celebrated her baby shower on November 8 at the Foundry in New York City surrounded by family and friends.
The venue was decorated with balloons and signs that read, “It’s A Mom!” “In addition to celebrating our baby at our shower, it was important that we showed love to the new moms too!” Ashley, 32, explained. “One of the greatest parts of this pregnancy journey has been making friends with and bonding with other moms.” The model wore a gorgeous custom Victor Glemaud dress from the Fall/Winter 2019 collection for the special occasion.
She added, “There were six pregnant moms at the shower, who’ve all been a part of my support system. We talk about all of the different aspects of pregnancy and motherhood, especially around taking care of ourselves as well.”
Aside from the cupcakes and balloons, there were some unconventional features of the baby shower. Partygoers could get free manicures, piercings, and tattoos at stations around the venue. “If you haven’t gotten your ears pierced or a tattoo, you have to do that,” Ashley said. There was also plenty of dancing, and Ashley herself even took to the dance floor!
She joked, “There’s so much food, there’s a big cake that’s bigger than the one at our wedding." She added that the party itself was bigger than her wedding and similar to Christmas. Ashley took to Instagram after the celebration and thanked her loved ones for coming to the party. "I’ve never had so many hands on my belly and I LOVE IT,” she quipped. “We feel so lucky and excited to be experiencing this new chapter with all of you in our lives and everyone who has shared so much love here!"
On November 7, Ashley accidentally revealed the gender of her baby on The Ellen DeGeneres Show during a rapid fire round of questions. Ellen, 61, caught the television presenter off guard asked if she was having a boy or a girl. “A boy,” Ashley responded. The model screamed after she realized she accidentally let the news slip. “Yeah! I’m having a boy! I’m gonna be a mommy to a boy!”
Ashley announced on August 14 that she and her husband Justin Ervin were expecting their first child together after nine years of marriage. "Nine years ago today, I married the love of my life. It has been the best journey with my favorite person in the world! Today, we are feeling so blessed, grateful and excited to celebrate with our GROWING FAMILY!” she wrote alongside a sweet baby bump reveal video on social media.
Ashley is due in January 2020.
