'Teen Mom OG' Star Mackenzie McKee Reveals Her Mom Has Stopped Receiving Chemotherapy — 'There Has Been No Miracle'

Teen Mom OG star Mackenzie McKee has announced that her mom, Angie Douthit, has stopped receiving chemotherapy. The heartbreaking news comes just after she revealed during the August 19 episode of the MTV show that her mom’s lung cancer spread and she was given only six months to live by doctors.

“The bigger the cancer, the bigger the miracle,” Mackenzie, 24, said during the episode, doing her best to remain hopeful.

Earlier this year, the TMOG newbie shared that Angie had a seven centimeter mass on her lung and five inoperable masses on her brain.

However, in the episode, Angie shared more difficult news. “The doctors told me that the cancer in both femurs; it’s in my breast bone; it’s in my hip bones; this backbone that’s attached to your hip bone, it’s back there; it’s half of my liver. It’s in the lymph nodes of my colon and the lymph nodes in my lungs. I have another tumor in my head," she revealed.

During a new interview, Mackenzie explained that her mom’s condition has worsened to the point where she is no longer receiving treatment.

“We just got the news yesterday that her blood counts are too low to continue with chemo,” she told RadarOnline.com

“There has been no miracle, but she is still with us,” Mackenzie added.

She also told Radar that her son Gannon, 7, is talking the news of his grandmother’s cancer the hardest. “Everyday is a new day with Gannon,” Mackenzie explained. “He always wants to be with her. She lives down the road from my new home so sometimes he escapes to go sit with her.”

In addition her mother’s grave diagnosis, Angie is dealing with the breakdown of her marriage. She announced that after six years she and husband Josh McKee were splitting. The breakup came amid rumors that Josh cheated on her while he was out of town for his rodeo shows.
