Teresa and Joe Giudice are a lot of things. But liars? Fugetaboutit! From lying about the fraud and taxation charges, to the actual cost of Teresa’s material items – the couple has been known to tell a fib or two (or 15!). In the words of the Real Housewives of New Jersey Star: “You Gotta Lie!”
On Watch What Happens Live, Teresa told Andy Cohen that she accepted the guilty plea deal because she “didn’t fully understand” that it would result in prison time. But RadarOnline.com confirmed through court documents that the reality star did understand. Teresa signed a letter claiming she, “discussed it and all of its provisions, including those addressing the charges, sentencing, stipulations, waiver, forfeiture, and immigration consequences.”

The Giudices stood by their innocence when they were first indicted on fraud and taxation charges. That was evident on the season premiere of the Real Housewives of New Jersey. When her sister-in-law Melissa Gorga called Teresa to ask if the reports were true, Teresa responded, “What came out today is not true!” Teresa and Joe plead guilty for all the charges only months later.
On part one of WWHL, Andy Cohen tried to drill Joe with questions on whether or not he knew the papers he was giving Teresa to sign were illegal and would land her in jail. Joe insisted that he just gave her whatever the bank gave him, until he finally came clean. “I was taking out false loans. They were handing me the paperwork, whatever those forms were. She had better credit so we used her… There were illegal things as far as tax returns and stuff like that. Yes.”
When Teresa and Joe submitted their list of assets to the court, they cited the value of Teresa’s jewelry as $0. That – of course – tipped off Judge Esther Salas. Andy brought up the lie to Teresa during the second part of the WWHL special, to which she replied, “I told my attorney, ‘You need to list my engagement ring, my wedding band, Joe has a Rolex and a wedding ring.’ I wear a lot of costume jewelry because diamond earrings, they could fall down the drain.”
What money problems? On a recent episode of Real Housewives of New Jersey, Teresa went house hunting for a cheaper home to help pay their legal bills. During the search, Teresa was spotted carrying a Valentino purse valued at $2,400. When questioned by Andy, Teresa explained that she often does not pay retail for items.

But material items aren’t the only things Teresa is spending money on! A source told RadarOnline.com, “She’s spending nearly $5,000 on cosmetic procedures every three to four months.”
Don’t mess with Gotti! Victoria Gotti spread a rumor claiming Rino Aprea cheated on his wife Teresa Aprea with her mother Santa. According to sources, Teresa knew of the rumor way before Gotti said it on the show! “For Teresa to go on camera and act like it was the first time she had heard it is just a blatant lie,” a source told RadarOnline.com. “Everyone on the cast had been talking about Rino being involved with his mother-in-law. It was hardly a secret.”

This isn’t the first time Joe has had a brush with the law. In 2007, Joe Giudice confessed to forging his business partner’s name, Joe Mastropole, on a mortgage document.

The charges just keep on coming! Joe will attend another hearing on Oct. 15 for allegedly trying to use his brother’s ID to get a fake license.

When Teresa and Joe Giudice filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in 2009, they failed to add Teresa’s expected income increase from her appearance on Real Housewives of New Jersey and income from their rental property.
In the bankruptcy filing, Teresa claimed that she only spent $400 monthly on clothes. But on RHONJ, she spent $2,000 on clothes in just one episode!

When Teresa applied for a $121,500 mortgage loan in 2001, she allegedly lied about being an executive assistant. She also allegedly submitted a fake W-2 form.

On an episode of RHONJ, Teresa and Joe gave their oldest daughter Gia a family heirloom that belonged to her grandmother. According to RadarOnline.com, the scene was staged! “The diamond ring had been given to Teresa about a year ago by a jeweler in New Jersey. Teresa wanted to give Gia the ring on camera to give publicity to the jeweler.”

The AP reported that on a loan application, Teresa lied about earning a salary of $180,000 per year.
