The Bachelorette’s Kaitlyn Bristowe ‘Wasn’t Excited’ About Competing Against Britt Nilsson: ‘I Was All Over The Place’

Sharing the spotlight with Britt wasn’t what Kaitlyn had in mind when she signed up for The Bachelorette, which is why she was hesitant to join at first. “It was definitely unexpected and I was shocked,” she admitted. “And yes – I was kind of just beside myself because I didn’t know what to think. I wasn’t excited about it, but I just really had to take a step back and think of the light at the end of the tunnel.”

Although Kaitlyn went through with the process, she did think about quitting. “I was kind of all over the map with how I felt about it,” the dancer said. “At one point, I was like, 'well if this is how I find a husband, then I guess.' And then there are times I was like, 'no, I don't need to put myself through that kind of stress.' But yes, I was kind of all over the place.”

Keeping an open mind about the experience, Kaitlyn didn’t reject contestants who where there to meet Britt. “They’re put in a tough position where they barely know these two women and you have a short amount of time to even just sit down and chat before somebody else comes steal us away," she explained. "So I think if somebody voted for Britt... I wouldn’t hold it against him, Britt’s lovely.”
