The Bottle Cap Challenge has been making the rounds on social media and it shows no signs of slowing. The viral internet stunt involves kicking a partially unscrewed bottle cap off a bottle without disturbing the beverage itself, all while filming the whole thing in slow motion. It originated in the MMA world but it has quickly spread through celebrity circles.
Mix martial artist Max Holloway kicked off the challenge and nominated John Mayer to go next.
The singer accepted and shockingly executed his challenge perfectly before challenging actor Jason Statham.
The British star aced the challenge himself before passing the torch to director Guy Ritchie. "This thing landed on my head from @johnmayer but will quickly go to a couple of fellas we’ve seen do push-ups badly. All yours @guyritchie and @jmoontasri," he captioned his clip.
Diplo got in on the action all the way from Ibiza, Spain, and weirdly nominated Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
"Since no one requested me to do this (@johnmayer) and also since no one thinks I'm good at anything except pushing buttons on stage ... here is evidence that I also do karate. I challenge Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Kevin Durant and Obama @sussexroyal @easymoneysniper@barackobama #bottlecapchallenge," he wrote on Instagram.
David Spade upped the intensity by performing his with an airplane mini alcohol bottle. The comedian nominated LeBron James, Kendall Jenner, and the "yodel boy from Coachella."
Mariah Carey arguably won the challenge when she sang the cap off the bottle! The songstress hit such a high pitch that the cap flew off almost immediately.
Shaquille O'Neal's attempt was an epic fail. Instead of making contact with the cap, he missed and kicked his friend right in the face with his bare foot.
Justin Bieber used his chance as another opportunity to challenge Tom Cruise. As fans know, the "Sorry" singer previously challenged the action star to a fight on Twitter. "This could be Tom Cruise's head," Justin jokingly said. He also nominated wife Hailey Baldwin.
