“I heard 'You Be Killin Em' was originally for that girl from The ViewLenny S’ girl,” rapper N.O.R.E told Fabolous, 41, on the Revolt TV show Drink Champs on November 8. “I heard that that was the beat for Adrienne’s song. Lenny S. played it for her, she loved it. Then he played it for you.”

During a special segment called “Set The Record Straight” on the November 13 episode of The Real, Adrienne, 36, confirmed that it was true. “The first thing I want to set straight is I am not on The View. I am on a show called, The Real!” she exclaimed.

“To set the story straight, the track was absolutely made for me,” Adrienne said. “Back when I was signed to Def Jam, I was dating Lenny. We actually got studio time with Ryan Leslie, an incredible producer. And I was telling Ryan this is the kind of music I want.”

The former 3LW singer continued, “My album that never came out was titled Unapologetic. I wanted something hard, I was being very outspoken on the album. Ryan created the beat of the song “You Be Killin Em” for me.”

“And we were actually looking for writers to write for the song, which happens all the time. I'm not a writer. That is not my ministry,” Adrienne joked. “So we were looking for writers, and I guess we took too long. Lenny was like ‘Yo you’re not using that beat, I am giving it to Fab.’ It ended up being the smash song ‘You Be Killin Em.’ I don’t think he knew! But the beat was absolutely made for me.”

Adrienne admitted, “Initially, I’m not gonna front I was a little salty. That was supposed to be my song!” The Real cohost also said she used to give her ex-boyfriend Lenny dirty stares when the song came on while they were clubbing.

“But now I look at it on a whole other level,” Adrienne said. “I will forever be able to tell my children, ‘You know that beat was made for mommy, right?’ That was my whole vibe!”
