Tina Knowles thinks Hurricane Harvey is more than just a natural disaster. Instead, she’s calling it a wake-up call from God about racism. Tina shared this viral photo of Sheriff’s Deputy Rick Johnson rescuing two children as Hurricane Harvey slammed into the Houston area on Sunday.

Beneath the photo she wrote, “I just saw this photo on @jurneebell and it made me think. Is it possible this is a message from God to make us wake up and really face the fact that we all need each other to survive? That all of this hate and prejudice and racism is just plain stupid?”

“Today I have seen the photos of all races carrying people and helping others,” Tina continued. “What is very clear to me is that when you think you're going to die, it does not matter the color of the skin of the person who is rescuing you.”

“I don't think anyone is going to say, ‘No, I'll just stay here and drown or I'll let my children drown before I let a _______ person carry me or my children.’ (You fill in the blank),” Tina wrote, adding, “Would you? That's what I thought!”
