Usher has come a long way since his 8701 days, as he prepares to get married for the second time! The 36-year-old proposed to longtime girlfriend Grace Miguel in January, but many people will be missing out on the wedding, after the singer cancelled his elaborate nuptial plans!
After seven months of planning the ceremony, Usher has allegedly decided to elope instead! So what does this mean? A major downsize, that’s for sure.
“It was supposed to be a 100-person wedding, but now he wants it to be only 20 people from each side,” a source tells Us Weekly. And friends and family members who have been cut from the special day are not pleased.
“People who are no longer invited had already booked their travel to Atlanta. He trimmed the list dramatically,” says the insider.
While it is unclear why Usher has chosen to move ahead with a smaller ceremony, it’s plausible that after his huge 2007 wedding to ex-wife Tameka Foster with 200 guests, he wanted something different this time around.
But regardless of where the nuptials are held, we have a feeling the singer is going to enjoy himself with Grace by his side.
Last year, Usher revealed that his fiancé, who he’s been dating since 2009, taught him how to enjoy life. “One thing that has come from having a great partner like Grace is being able to cherish the places that I’ve gone,” he says. “We see the monumental sites, go to the museums, eat in the best restaurants. I’m that guy now! In the past I’d do what I have to do and get on the bus to the next city. Life has become a vacation,” he told Billboard. How cute!
