Rent is coming to the small screen! Jonathan Larson's famous rock musical will be airing on Fox in the form of a live television event. The star-studded cast will be stepping into the iconic roles and will be singing their hearts out. The show won't air until January but the recently released cast portraits will tide you over until then! Keep scrolling to see the photos!
Vanessa Hudgens will be portraying bisexual artist Maureen Johnson. She previously played another character in the show, Mimi Marquez, in the Hollywood Bowl version back in 2010.
Mario will be stepping into the role of landlord Benjamin Coffin III.
Jordan Fisher will transform into the character of Mark Cohen, a struggling Jewish filmmaker.
Kiersey Clemons will be rocking the character of Joanne Jefferson, a lesbian lawyer who is in love with Maureen.
Broadway veteran Brandon Victor Dixon will portray Tom Collins, AIDS victim and anarchist professor.
RuPaul's Drag Race star Valentina will be dressing up in drag once again to play the role of Angel Dumott Schunard. Angel is a drag queen/street musician with AIDS who falls in love with Tom.
Tinashe will play AIDS-stricken dancer Mimi Marquez in the musical.
Newcomer and X-Factor alum Brennin Hunt will sing his heart out as AIDS patient and resident struggling musician, Roger Davis. He is in love with Mimi.
Rent: Live! will air on Fox on January 27, 2019.
