'Vogue' Issues Apology In Response To Kendall Jenner's Afro Photo Shoot Backlash

Kendall Jenner has been getting heat from fans over a photo shoot she did with Vogue to celebrate 15 years of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CDFA)/ Vogue Fashion Fund prize. The photos have caught some heavy backlash and the fashion Bible came under fire for being accused of cultural appropriation. The magazine has issued an apology so keep reading to hear what happened.

The photos in question have the 22-year-old modeling a big Afro-esque wig and a floral dress with a cutout on the neck. The model wore light makeup and her freckles were on full display.

The photos were posted on Kendall's Instagram as well as Vogue's IG. But fans couldn't help but slam both for posting the controversial pics.

The magazine has now released a statement to E! regarding the photo shoot and apologizing if they offended anyone. "The image is meant to be an update of the romantic Edwardian/Gibson Girl hair which suits the period feel of the Brock Collection,"

"And also the big hair of the '60s and the early '70s, that puffed-out, teased-out look of those eras. We apologize if it came across differently than intended, and we certainly did not mean to offend anyone by it," the statement continued.

This isn't the first time, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star has faced debate regarding her modeling career. Earlier this summer, she got hate for making comments about being "super selective" about the amount of shows she does.
