Wesley Snipes, Leslie Jones & More Stars Join 'Coming To America' Sequel

Blade actor Wesley Snipes is set to star in Eddie Murphy's highly-anticipated Coming To America sequel. The news was released on Wednesday, August 7, along with several other stars announced to join the cast.

The romantic comedy was released in 1988 and starred Eddie, 58, as Prince Akeem, a royal from the fictional African nation of Zamunda. He travels to Queens, New York, to find himself a wife as he works in a fast food restaurant.

Wesley, 57, is set to play General Izzi, the ruler of another fictional African nation that borders Zamunda.

The sequel, entitled Coming 2 America, will follow Akeem returning to America 30 years later to find his long-lost son.

Ghostbusters actress Leslie Jones and If Beale Street Could Talk star Kiki Layne are also attached to star in Paramount's film.

Scenes are currently being filmed at rapper Rick Ross' Atlanta mansion. He shared the news during a radio interview with Nick Cannon on August 5.

Arsenio Hall will reprise his role of Akeem’s best friend, Semmi. Coming to America also starred James Earl Jones, Shari Headley and John Amos.
