Zooey Deschanel has a major reason to celebrate! The New Girl actress and her husband, Jacob Pechenik, just welcomed their second child, a baby boy! In a statement to People magazine, Zooey’s rep confirmed the family’s good news. “Zooey, Jacob, and their daughter Elsie are overjoyed to welcome the newest member of their family,” the rep said. Like his big sister, Elsie Otter, the little guy has an animal-themed name, too: Charlie Wolf. Too cute! Charlie arrived last week, but as she did with her daughter, Zooey managed to keep his arrival a secret!
Charlie is the second child but first boy for Zooey and Jacob, who welcomed their daughter Elsie in August 2015. At the time, fans didn’t even know Zooey and Jacob were married!
Zooey and Jacob began dating in mid-2014 and were engaged less than a year later. In an interview with Redbook magazine, Zooey credited marriage and motherhood with helping her slow her life down.

“I’ve slowed things down a bit. I think it’s good for your whole self — your creative self, your professional self, and just your soul — to take a little time for yourself and your family,” she said.
Charlie’s middle name of Wolf carries on the parents’ love of animal monikers. While on Today, Zooey confirmed she and her husband named daughter Elsie Otter after the sea animal. “We both love otters — they’re very sweet and they’re very smart…they’re wonderful animals,” she said.
