Zooey Deschanel and Jonathan Scott stepped out for a date in a galaxy not so far away! On December 16, the couple attended the Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker premiere at the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood. Joining the couple was Jonathan’s twin and Property Brothers costar, Drew, and his wife Linda Phan. Zooey, 39, and Jonathan, 41, started dating in September, less than two weeks after she and ex Jacob Pechenik announced their separation.
Zooey, Jonathan, Drew, and Linda, 34, posed on the blue carpet before they entered the theater. The New Girl star wore a pink minidress, and her beau rocked an ugly Christmas sweater that featured Darth Vader surrounded by candy canes, and jeans. Jonathan dressed up the festive look with a navy blazer and chestnut brown loafers. They posed together, as the HGTV star put his arm around Zooey’s waist.
Drew wore a black turtleneck under a cream colored blazer with black slacks. Linda dazzled in a high-necked shimmering dress.
Zooey and Jonathan originally sparked romance rumors in September when they were seen holding hands at Little Dom’s Restaurant in Silver Lake, California. The same day, the Property Brothers star confirmed to Us Weekly that he was seeing someone, but wouldn’t reveal who it was. “I’m a very private person, so I don’t typically talk about that,” he confessed.
The Vancouver native added, “It’s definitely special for me because I am the guy who raises the bar in what I’m looking for in a partner. I was caught a little off guard. It was definitely a pleasant surprise.”
The couple previously participated in a Carpool Karaoke segment in August, weeks before being seen together. A source for People said that Zooey and Jonathan bonded over their love of music, and became friends after filming the clip. They were joined by their famous siblings, Emily Deschanel and Drew, along with James Corden.
On September 6, Zooey and Jacob, 47, revealed they were breaking up after four years of marriage. “After much discussion and a long period of contemplation we have decided we are better off as friends, business partners and co-parents rather than life partners," Zooey and Jacob's statement read. "We remain committed to our business, our values and most of all our children. Thank you for respecting our privacy at this time."
The former couple got engaged in January 2015 and married later that year. They share two children, Elsie, 4, and Charlie, 2.
