REALITY TVCast Shake-Up? Former 'RHONY' Star Kristen Taekman Moves From NYC To Los Angeles
Could the ladies of Beverly Hills be getting a new addition from the Big Apple? Perhaps! Former The Real Housewives of New York star Kristen Taekman is ditching the cold streets of NYC and moving to sunny Los Angeles.
"We rented a house for a year in L.A. I’ve got family out here, my husband's family is out here and my son was born here, so I lived here for, like, six, seven years," the lifestyle blogger told Derek Zagami on RealiTea With Derek Z.
"Just because of the climate of everything right now — we come out to L.A. every summer for at least a month/six weeks and this summer we were like, 'You know what? Let's just stay.' If we're going to homeschool indefinitely, I would rather homeschool with good weather, no winter. I literally just took a dip in the pool ten minutes before I got on this Zoom call with you. I’m gonna give myself a year and see what happens."
The former Bravo star said that “New York is always going to be there” and that “the New York I miss is not the New York that’s there right now," referring to how the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has changed the city.
It’s been five years since Taekman left RHONY, but fans of the show are still very much invested in her marriage to husband Josh Taekman following the awkward revelation that the businessman had an account on the dating site Ashley Madison, which caters to people looking to have an affair.

According to the Daily Mail, Josh joined Ashley Madison — which operates under the tagline, ‘Life is short. Have an affair’ — in 2011 and made at least 62 payments to the site.
The 51-year-old admitted to Us Weekly that he “signed up for the site foolishly,” and he “deeply apologized for any embarrassment or pain" that he caused his wife. "We both look forward to moving past this and getting on with our lives," he added.
Throughout filming RHONY, the fashion blogger admitted that “after every episode, viewers would go on Twitter and tell me to divorce my husband. You’ve gotta love Twitter, right?" she told OK! in 2014.
“Everyone warned me that filming a reality show would be terrible for my marriage. It was actually fascinating for me, though," she admitted. "How often do you get a bird’s eye view of your relationship?”

Luckily, the couple is still together and frequently posts pictures of each other and their kids — daughter Kingsley and son Cassius — on social media. The mother of two runs the affordable fashion blog Last Night’s Looks and seems to be enjoying her time in L.A. as she recently posted a photo of herself and her son laying by the pool. “Sunday Funday," she captioned the snapshot.
The blonde beauty's move to L.A. comes on the heels of a wild season of RHOBH where star Brandi Glanville made the shocking claim she hooked up with fellow costar Denise Richards. Rumors have been circulating about a major cast shake-up for RHOBH after the addition of newcomer Garcelle Beauvais in season 10.
Recently, star Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave had to shut down rumors that she had quit the hit reality show after a screenshot circulated the internet, which appeared to be from her account.
“Hope everyone enjoys tonight’s episode of #RHOBH — it’s a bumpy ride!” the screenshot read. “After 3 seasons, I have decided to walk away from the show. I wish the cast, production and Bravo all the best in future seasons, and I am grateful that I have made some lifelong friends out of this experience.”

Addressing the rumor head-on, the 39-year-old reposted the screenshot to her Instagram story, writing, “#FAKENEWS.”
“I didn’t tweet this but thanks for the extra press,” she said.
