Talk show host Wendy Williams broke down in tears during the season 12 premiere of The Wendy Williams Show on Monday, September 21, after production had shut down due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic seven months ago.

"I'm so happy to be back," she emotionally stated while kicking off Hot Topics. "It's been a long seven months for us here at Wendy, and I'm sure for you, too. You know it's been since March... and what a mess."

While rocking a neon lime-green floor-length dress, the 56-year-old updated her audience on her life since the beginning of lockdown, including how the host's former DJ — and rumored beau — DJ Boof, 35, had been replaced by DJ Suss One. When previously asked about their speculated romance and why they never made things "official," Williams responded, "We're official friends!"

"I know men friends. I was having dates and stuff. I'm single. I live in Manhattan now. I sold the house in Jersey. But then the past five months have been really weird," the Think Like A Man actress began explaining. "Where do you get a hug? Shout out to all the single people — men and women. Where do you get a hug? How do you really get touched? Well, I've slipped up a couple of times I must say."

Williams also showed off her new figure after losing 25 pounds in quarantine and said she is now looking for "the comfort of a man," and quipped that she's "using the show to fish." She then clarified, explaining, "I'm doing this show for you, for me and everybody around here, but in the back of my mind I'm always wondering, I hope he's watching. I hope he'll call."

The TV personality finalized her divorce from her ex-husband and TV producer, Kevin Hunter, after 22 years of marriage. The former couple shares 20-year-old son, Kevin Jr., whom Williams spoke about during the season premiere.

"It's hard when they're 20, cause they can be jerky... But we talk. He'll call me or I'll call him. Sometimes I answer. Sometimes he answers...," she said. "He did call me last night to say good luck today... and then asked me for money. That's the way it goes with these kids."

While the host momentarily filmed At-Home episodes since production was paused, she went on a hiatus in May and explained: "I’m waiting for the state of New York to say that we as a show can go back. We got 200 people in our audience, we'll never have that again. But I want to go back to do our show." She added, "Nothing makes me happier than to be Wendy on The Wendy Show. What I want the most is to be with you. I miss you. I miss you a lot."
