Emma Stone Vs. Joan Smalls: Who Wore the Best Braid to the Met Gala?

Lots of updos, a few floral accessories (we're talking to you, SJP), a nod to Old Hollywood glam, and a handful of intricate braids walked the red carpet (along with those knock-out dresses) last night at the Met Gala. With a slew of stylish celebs taking risks with unexpected and dramatic looks, the gathering basically created your list of need-to-try beauty looks for the next year.

Two ladies that had the same (grand!) idea when it came to braids? Emma Stone, a girl who took the Met Gala by storm in a hot pink crop top, and Joan Smalls, that model legend who is literally one of the few who can work purple lipstick with ease. Both of these gals put their own spin on the 'do with two completely different variations of the hair technique. Emma chose a loose braid with a romantic vibe, while Joan went for that nautical fishtail braid all us summer girls are completely obsessed with.
