In a rough situation, we just ask, “What would the countess do?” This week, the countess chimes in Ellen DeGeneres' JC Penney controversy and Beyoncè's night out.

Ellen DeGeneres is trusted and loved by millions of fans and JCPenney made a good decision in hiring her as their spokesperson. I join Bill O’Reilly in defending Ellen against the One Million Moms boycott and I hope that others will stand with me as we support Ellen’s right to live her life as she chooses. JC Penney should stand by Ellen and keep her as their spokesperson.

Just one month after giving birth to her daughter, Beyoncè enjoyed two nights out in a row in NYC with her husband Jay-Z. Is it okay for a new mom to leave her newborn home to enjoy a couple nights out?
It’s healthy to spend time alone with your husband even if you are nervous about leaving your newborn in someone else’s care. Infants are incapable of separation anxiety and are happy if someone cuddles, changes and feeds them, so go ahead and get some “us” time when you can. Although Beyoncé has more resources than most new mothers, she has maternal instincts just like the rest of us and I’m sure on her nights out she checked in with the nanny often.
Tip: When Mommy’s happy, everyone’s happy.
