Josiah Duggar Reveals Parents’ Advice Before Wedding To Lauren Swanson

Josiah Duggar said “I do” to his fiancée Lauren Swanson on June 30 in Arkansas, but before walking down the aisle, the Counting On star’s parents shared some valuable advice with the young couple.

“Most importantly, both of our families emphasized how important it is to keep Christ central in our marriage,” the couple told People. “Marriage is a gift from God and putting Christ first is the most important thing we can do to ensure a marriage that is strong, healthy and able to withstand all the ups and downs of life.”

Josiah was also advised to always but his wife first! “My family also encouraged me to look for every chance to serve Lauren — to genuinely serve her and put her first, ahead of myself,” he explained.

Lauren got some advice from her parents as well. “My parents encouraged me to be Josiah’s biggest fan, offer him support and encouragement. Think the best, never assume the worst. Be his biggest cheerleader,” she shared.

The big day was a family affair — Lauren’s father Dwain Swanson even officiated the ceremony. Of their wedding, Josiah told Us Weekly, “This is an exciting, big step in our lives, and the whole thing was very meaningful.”

Lauren and Josiah became engaged in March 2018, two months after announcing their courtship.
