Fredik Eklund Makes Emotional Plea To Husband Derek As They Try For A Baby Again

Fredrik Eklund and his husband Derek Kaplan are going to try to have a baby again! In a clip from Million Dollar Listing: New York, Fredrik admits that he’s “really nervous” about going through the process of trying for a baby after a devastating miscarriage in September 2015. But this time around, Fredrik reveals they’re going to have “a new egg donor, new surrogate, and new doctor.”

“I’m trying to stay optimistic. I have been going to church. I’ve been praying,” Fredrik reveals in the clip above, before having an emotional conversation with his husband Derek.

“I’ve been thinking this time around, if you would be so kind to take the lead on it all…because I know I’ve been taking the lead too much the other three times, and I think when I do it, it’s not meant to be,” Fredrik tells Derek.

“Well, I don’t really agree with that,” Derek replies.

“We have a track record that hasn’t been so great. Something’s not been right,” Fredrik says. “I just have to let go…just let go control.”

“Then I support that,” Derek agrees. “I’m more than happy to take the lead on this whole thing and just tell you all the news as it happens.”

“That’s why I love him so much," Fredik explains as he breaks down. "He has an amazing way of dealing with big stressful situations, and this is a big stressful situation and he is just going to deal with it, I know it and I love him for it.”
