Paris Hilton Doesn't Think Pal Britney Spears' Conservatorship Is 'Fair': 'She Has No Control Of Her Life'

Sticking up for her friend! Paris Hilton got candid about her pal Britney Spears’ ongoing conservatorship battle during an interview with Andy Cohen

“I saw her this summer. We’ve had dinners, I saw her in Malibu,” the socialite, 39, told Cohen during the Wednesday, September 9, episode of his SiriusXM show, Radio Andy. “I just love her so much. I feel like if you are an adult, you should be able to live your life and not be controlled. I think that maybe stems from being controlled so much, so I can understand how that would feel and I can’t imagine right now if that was still happening to me.”

BRITNEY SPEARS SHOWS HER LOVE AND SUPPORT FOR #FREEBRITNEY MOVEMENT

Hilton — who has been friends with Spears for years — said it was a shame that the pop star, 38, is being treated like this. “After just working your whole life and working so hard, she’s this icon and I just feel like she has no control of her life whatsoever and I just don’t think that’s fair,” she stated.

Cohen, 52, asked Hilton if she discusses the conservatorship drama with Spears, but the blonde beauty made it clear she doesn’t like to talk about the controversial topic. “No, I don’t like bringing things up like that,” she admitted. “She is so sweet and so innocent and such a nice girl. We just talk about happy things. Music, fashion … fun things. I never like to bring up negative things and make people feel uncomfortable, so I’ve never talked about it with her.”

CHER SPEAKS UP IN SUPPORT OF BRITNEY SPEARS AMID ONGOING CONSERVATORSHIP BATTLE

The ‘Toxic’ singer’s conservatorship began in February 2008 after her public breakdown, and as a result, her father, Jamie Spears, was put in charge of her affairs. In 2019, Jodi Montgomery took over as temporary conservator after Jamie dealt with some health issues.

Now, the Grammy winner wants to take control of her finances once and for all. So much so, according to court documents, the Mississippi native is “strongly opposed” to having her father continue his role, and she “strongly prefers” that Montgomery “continue in that role as she has done for nearly a year.”

This isn't the first time the Simple Life alum has spoke about Spears' situation, either. In August, she told The Sunday Times that "it breaks my heart that people have so much control over her."

"It’s not fair to be an adult and be treated like a child," she added. "I can’t imagine having to live my life like that.”
