It's Official! Peter Weber Is The New 'Bachelor'

The wait is over! It was officially announced that Peter Weber is the newest Bachelor for season 24 of the hit ABC series during the Bachelor in Paradise reunion on Tuesday, September 17. The airline pilot became a fan favorite and was one of the final three contestants on Hannah Brown's season of The Bachelorette and now it's his turn to search for love on TV.

Peter, 27, beat out rumored frontrunner Mike Johnson and long shot Tyler Cameron, who lost out on the opportunity when he started dating supermodel Gigi Hadid in August.

Peter is a Delta Airlines pilot who lives at home with parents in Westlake Village, California. Hannah sent Peter home and ultimately accepted a proposal from Jed Wyatt, before breaking up with him when she learned the musician had been dishonest about having a girlfriend back in Tennessee.

Hannah caused quite the stir when she revealed that she and Peter had sex four times in a windmill on their fantasy suite date. Despite his elimination, Peter had no hard feelings and gushed about Hannah on the After The Final Rose special. "She’s honestly the most amazing person I’ve ever met so far in my life and I’m just so grateful for all of those memories that we made and being able to fall in love with her. It wasn’t easy to watch back. I really fell for her and I had no doubt that it was going to be us in the end. I really did. So it was tough to watch back," he said.

Peter found himself in the middle of controversy when he was accused of dumping his girlfriend to appear on The Bachelorette. His ex Calee Lutes claimed that they had been in a relationship for six months and had talked about moving in together before he abruptly broke up with her around Christmas and went on the show shortly after.

"There was a lot of truth to what she said in her story, but there is also a lot of truth that wasn’t mentioned. The show had absolutely nothing to do with me ending that relationship," Peter told People.

33 women have been chosen to compete for Peter's heart on the upcoming season, which has yet to be given a premiere date.
