Despite the fame and fortune, returning to work has not been easy for celebrity mom Alyssa Milano, who struggles to leave her 22-month-old son Milo each day she films her show on ABC,  Mistresses.

“I think going back to work is one of the most challenging times I’ve had, for sure,” the actress, 40, tells me during the resource Spring Water launch event held at Pier 36 in NYC.  “I think it goes against every fiber of a woman’s being to pay more attention, or attention in general, to that part of your life when you have a baby. It was definitely more difficult than I expected, for sure.”

But even though it hasn't been easy, Alyssa makes an effort to spend quality time with baby Milo when she’s home.

“My son is obsessed with Yo Gabba Gabba,” she admits. "And I love making spinach pie for him, because every single time I make it, which is probably once a month, and I put it down in front of him, he says ‘wow,’” she explains. “I also love to bake. He loves my cupcakes."

As for how Alyssa's relationship with her husband, Dave Bugliari, has changed since having a baby?

“Oh, I love him,” she says. “My love is so much deeper for him now. To share this incredible bond and experience—all of the fears that go into parenting, to have a partner to go through with that, it just makes a couple closer, I think.”

So, would Alyssa and David want more kids one day?

“I’d like one more,” she says. “I’d like to give Milo a sibling.”
