Watch! 'Real Housewives Of New York' Star Tinsley Mortimer Gives Fans A Fake Eyelash Tutorial
Real Housewives of New York star Tinsley Mortimer teamed up with Winky Lux to create her own line of XXO Tinsley fake eyelashes. The socialite gave OKMagazine.com an in-depth tutorial on how to apply the perfect fake lash.
Tinsley's makeup artist Jasen Kaplan revealed that people should always start by measuring the fake lash against their eye to make sure the falsies doesn't hang over the natural lash.
The reality star explained that she always bends the brim of the lash against her finger to give it added flexibility.
When it comes to the glue, Tinsley told fans to "not be afraid" of the adhesive. "You need it and it's not going to show. Even if it starts to slip and slide a little bit you can correct all of it. Glue is important," she insisted.
"When you're putting the glue on the lash make sure you're getting it on the entire part of the lash that hits the eye. The glue will dry clear. It's really important to let the glue dry," Jasen added.
Jasen thinks it's helpful to use tweezers when applying the lash. He also recommended that people never close their eye fully during the application process, as the glue can often stick to the bottom lashes. The last step is to add mascara to bind the real and fake eyelashes together.
"I designed these really cute boxes that can basically just house your lashes. If you want to take them off at night when you go to sleep, you can just rest them right back in their little place and they can just hold. You can keep them and apply whenever you want," Tinsley said.
