Rose McGowan Indicted On One Felony Count Of Cocaine Possession

Rose McGowan is facing some serious legal troubles. The former Charmed actress has been indicted by a grand jury on one felony count of cocaine possession in Loudoun County, VA, RadarOnline.com reported. If convicted, Rose could be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison.

In November, Rose was arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance. Then in January, police claimed they found “traces of a substance that was later identified as a narcotic” on items Rose left behind on a United flight arriving at Washington Dulles Airport on January 20.

Rose’s lawyer Jessica Carmichael claimed in court papers that five hours passed between the time Rose lost her wallet and a cleaning crew found it, leaving enough time for the drugs to planted. She suggested Harvey Weinstein, who Rose has been an outspoken critic of since accusing him of sexual assault, had someone plant the drugs.

Rose’s trial is expected to be set for tomorrow. Her lawyer, Jose Baez, said in a statement, "Rose steadfastly maintains her innocence. These charges would have never been brought if it weren't for her activism as a voice for women everywhere. I assure you, this selective prosecution will be met with a strong defense."
