Selena Gomez Says All ‘My Exes Think I’m Crazy’ But She ‘Doesn’t Care’

Selena Gomez has much to say about her past relationships and the way her exes view her now.

During a chat with YouTube star Nikkie de Jager, who goes by NikkieTutorials on YouTube, The 28-year-old singer opened up about her past experiences with dating while promoting her new makeup line, Rare Beauty.

Gomez explained that “every one of my exes thinks I’m crazy,” but she doesn’t care, referring to her past flames, which include Justin Bieber and The Weeknd, to name a few.

The Disney alum spoke about her hopes for future romances and the struggle of dating during the pandemic, even joking that her wedding “is never gonna happen.” She explained that it’s hard to date in quarantine while clarifying that it’s “also not an invitation” for guys to ask her out.

"It's just funny that I release things that say I want a boyfriend and stuff… and I’m like, 'I didn’t really mean it, though,'" she chuckled. "Guys are a lot of work."

In her recently released song ‘Boyfriend,’ Gomez sang about her frustrations with dating; however, the brunette beauty posted on her Instagram story in April explaining that while the song is about wanting a boyfriend, it is important to remember you don’t need anyone. "It’s a lighthearted song about falling down and getting back up time and time again in love,” she said, “but also knowing that you don’t need anyone other than yourself to be happy."

While happily single, Gomez has been very busy working on her career during the coronavirus pandemic. She launched her first-ever makeup line, Rare Beauty, on September 2.- the singer dished that the name was inspired from her 2020 album, ‘Rare’- the same word she also has tattooed behind her ear. The 'Ice Cream' singer explained in a video on the Rare Beauty’s Instagram that the word is all about self-love and embracing imperfections.

Gomez has also been busy in the kitchen as she works on her new HBO Max show ‘Selena + Chef’, which shows her amateur skills in the kitchen. The Texas native offers viewers a fun escape from life to watch her “look like a fool” while trying to learn to cook virtually with the help of professional chefs.

In an exclusive interview with OK! Gomez revealed that her 10-episode show provides an “opportunity to do something that could make people smile,” as she comically tries to cook in her new house. “I love cooking,” she said. “I just don’t always know how to do it!”

When asked how it feels to have cameras filming inside her house in such an intimate setting, the 'Spring Breakers' star explained. “I definitely try to keep my life private, but this was different for me. I’d just moved into my house — that’s my new kitchen in the show. I felt very comfortable,” Gomez revealed.

The actress had famously been linked to Bieber, 36,- who is now married to model Hailey Baldwin- as they had an on again off again relationship since 2011 before calling it quits in 2018. She also dated The Weeknd, 30, for 10 months before their October 2017 split. During one of her 'Selena+ Chef' episodes, Gomez broke down when opening up about her life in the spotlight and shared that she hopes she is remembered for her work and not who she had dated in the past.
