Watch: Ashlee Simpson & Evan Ross 'Not On The Same Page' In Their Marriage
When Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross signed on for their new reality show, they had to accept the fact that cameras would be present for all the ups and down of their marriage. During last night’s episode of Ashlee + Evan, viewers got a chance the couple at odds with each other.
It all started when the couple decided to take a restorative family vacation.
Ashlee explained that she and Evan were getting a little too busy with work and she was excited for a chance to spend some time reconnecting with their daughter, Jagger.
However, just when the “Pieces of Me” singer was getting ready to settle into vacay mode, there was a knock at the door.
Before she knew what was happening, dozens of Evan’s friends began walking into the vacation home as Evan eagerly stood up to greet them.
“Is Ashlee good with surprises? NO,” Evan said during the confessional shot.
“When I’m caught off-guard I definitely have a smile, not a lot of words. I’m probably gonna walk away, go think about it and maybe scream. And then come back,” his wife admitted.

During another scene, while her husband is dancing on the couch and thoroughly entertaining his friends, a visibly upset Ashlee called him over. “I did not expect that. You must have known your friends were coming,” she told him quietly.
And though the 30-year-old insisted to Ashlee’s face that he didn’t know his friends were planning to make a surprise appearance, in his confessional space, he alluded to the opposite.
“I did not tell them that there was rooms all through the house. I didn't say there was, you know, all kinds of villas just on the property waiting for them to sleep in with good sheets and things…I didn't tell them any of that. I didn't throw it out there like that. I didn't say the pool was warm. I didn't,” he said, sounding totally glib.
