‘We’re Going To Get Divorced!’ Amy Duggar Gets Real About Past Marriage Problems
It wasn’t always Instagram-worthy tropical vacations and inspirational quotes for Amy Duggar and Dillon King! While talking about her upcoming three-year wedding anniversary, the 31-year-old former reality star revealed, she and her husband, 30, had to fight for their marriage to get it to the “golden” place it is today.
“After my mom and dad’s divorce, I was so scared,” Amy told RadarOnline. “Dillon and I would argue. I thought, 'oh my gosh, we’re going to get divorced.'”
Amy’s parents, Deanna and Jerry Jordan, went through a nasty split in 2015, around the time Amy and Dillon tied the knot.
Despite her parents’ tumultuous relationship being a cautionary tale, Amy and Dillon’s first years of marriage included a ton of “rough patches.”
“We couldn’t communicate,” she said. “Communication is one of those things where it just takes time to learn each other. We thought we could just do it on our own.”
Amy added: “Dillon didn’t know where I was coming from."
As OK! readers know, the couple’s marital issues played out on TV when they joined Marriage Boot Camp in 2017.
Despite the public nature of the show, Amy said she is “so grateful” they joined the cast.
“Marriage Boot Camp kind of helped us just focus on us and fix the rough patches,” she admitted. “We are better than ever now…. and look forward to new adventures.”
Amy continued: “Dillon and I are golden right now!”
