It's a sad day in the music world since John Atterberry, a music executive, died yesterday after beng shot last week by a gunman in the center of Hollywood.

John worked with the Spice Girls, Jessica Simpson and other huge stars and passed away at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center before 5 p.m. Nearly 20 bullets were shot in the air and at cars as the 26-year old gunman Tyler Brehm screamed he wanted to die. Cops killed him minutes later, but by then it was too late.
According to the Huffington Post, the officers ordered the culprit to stop shooting and drop his weapon. They shot him when he pointed his gun at the officers.
John was vice-president of Death Row Records, the record label that produced albums for hip hop A-listers like Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre and Tupac Shakur.
The publicist for Smokey Robinson and Ron Artest told Billboard she was shocked to hear the news and said John was "a really nice guy."
