Justin Bieber Dishes on Renting the Staples Center for Selena Gomez Date: "They Said I Can Use It"

Justin Bieber is busy promoting his Christmas album Under the Mistletoe — which drops today — and stopped by The Tonight Show to catch up with host Jay Leno

Of course Jay wanted to know the dirt about Justin's recent extravagant date with his girlfriend Selena Gomez.

"I decided I kind of wanted to have dinner and I kind of thought that maybe we should do it in the middle of the Staples Center," he explained, joking that since the Lakers aren't playing right now it wasn't much of a problem.

"They said you can use it," he added. "So I used it."

In September, Justin rented out the Staples Center, the 20,000-seat arena where the Lakers play, which is right next door to the Nokia Theatre!

Inside the empty arena, Justin set up a private date for his leading lady complete with a steak and pasta dinner.

And then the real romance started when Titanic began playing on the big screen!

Justin also shared a funny story with Jay about failing his driver's test for the first time because he forgot you had to make a "full stop" before making a right at a red light.

"I ended up not going in the car and I was just yelling a traffic in the rain, like 'Why.. why do you have your license and I can't drive,' " he said.
