Just a few months ago Robin was diagnosed with a rare blood disorder and it sounds like Robin's going to receive a bone marrow transplant.
On the show she told co-anchors Lara Spencer and George Stephanopolous, “I can’t imagine not getting up and being here."

Robin mentioned she's getting the transplant from a donation from her sister, Sally. The vivacious co-host also pointed out when a bone marrow transplant is done, you "don't have an immune system for a while and you're very susceptible to infection."
As for when she'll return to the airwaves, it's unknown but Robin hinted it'll be a lot longer than a few weeks. She Tweeted, "thank you, unfortunately will be longer than that. RT @amcfan79: @RobinRoberts Best wishes to you. You'll be missed over the next few weeks."
