Scotty McCreery doesn't mind being compared to Justin Bieber. During the American Idol process, the season 10 winner gained the nickname "Country Bieber." Scotty dished to OK! that the JB connection is certainly a flattering moniker, but also baffles him a bit!
"I don't know what to think of that," Scotty told OK! exclusively of the "Country Bieber" nickname. "Me and Justin, we are both pretty young, but Justin's far more ahead then I am. He's got a great career. He's a star. It's cool to be referred to him. He's a major guy right now."
And while he may be major, Scotty doesn't feel you can compare their singing styles.
"We have two different styles," he told OK!.
So where did the comparison come from?
Scotty's fellow Idol contestant Paul McDonald told OK! at last week's finale: "He's like the Justin Bieber of country music."
And we totally understand how Paul made the connection! Both singers are 17, adorable and have a way of captivating young female fans.
