After winning an Oscar for his portrayal of Stephen Hawking in The Theory Of Everything, Eddie Redmayne proved that no challenge is too great for him – even when he’s transforming into a transgender woman! Click through to see photos of Eddie on the set of his new film, The Danish Girl.

In the upcoming 1920s-set film, Eddie plays transgender pioneer Einar Wegener/Lili Elbe. The period piece follows Einar’s transformation from a male to female after he dresses up in women’s clothing in replacement of one of his wife’s models.

On set, Eddie wore a black peacoat with a brown scarf. He topped off the look with white tights, a black clutch and a bob wig.

This will be the second time the actor is teaming up with Tom Hooper, who directed the 2012 flick Les Miserables.

He recently told The Daily Mail of the role, “We’re looking at everything from a feminine perspective. I think it’s the most sensitive role I have played.”
