Joe Simpson Makes Triumphant Return To Red Carpet Just Months After Beating Cancer
Joe Simpson made his red carpet return last night just months after defeating cancer! The former manager stepped out with his daughter Ashlee Simpson to support her husband Evan Ross at the Freedom United Foundation Presents Art With A Cause event on Thursday evening. “I’m coming back!” Joe told Us Weekly exclusively at the event. “I went from stage IV to cancer free!” Joe was diagnosed with prostate cancer in September of last year and confirmed the news in November. After undergoing radiation treatments, Joe shared that he was cancer free in mid-May. Click through to see photos of Joe and Ashlee at the event!
“I feel good,” Joe shared with Us at the party. “I beat it. I have zero cancer!” he said.
A source told Us that Joe’s cancer battle had helped him get closer to his family, who went through a difficult time after he and his wife Tina divorced in 2013 after 35 years of marriage.
“Jessica Simpson was the one he wasn’t as close with, and this made them so close,” the insider told Us at the time. “They’re all closer because of what he’s going through.”

Evan, whose sister Tracee Ellis Ross also attended the event, agreed. “Our entire family is so intertwined in such a good way. We’re all friends with each other,” he shared.
“We’re such a good family it was just meant to be,” he added.
