After weeks of hype leading up to Katie Holmes pre-taped appearance on Fox hit So You Think You Can Dance?, the actress’ fleet-footed tribute to Judy Garland finally aired on Thursday night.

“It was so magical for me,” SYTYCD choreographer Tyce Diorio, who worked on the number with Katie, tells OK! about his experience. “It was so inspiring and motivating working with Katie. She’s such a great artist; a triple threat and a friend… To watch her up on stage and deliver that in a performance, it’s just so captivating and no one expects it.”

SYTYCD producer and judge Nigel Lythgoe gave Katie an A for effort.

“First and foremost, she worked so hard on that,” Nigel told OK! after the broadcast. “There was no reason for her to do it other than to shine a light on the Dizzy Feet Foundation [a foundation that promotes access to dance education in America] which is why she did it and I’m just so grateful that she worked so hard.”

Nigel also revealed that Katie’s experience with the show has got her even more hooked on hoofing. “She loves it,” he tells OK!. “She’s in Australia now and she’s taking dance classes. She loved it; Suri loved it and she used to come here during our dress rehearsals, quiet, without an audience, very relaxed and she absolutely adores it… I love passion in anything. When you’ve got passion, you’re alive.”
