When Marcus McArthur started ripping up a rejection letter in front of his 8-month old son, Micah, he became an internet star. A YouTube video of Micah, or the “laughing baby,” has gone viral!
Micah, now 10 months, and his parents, Marcus and Amanda appeared on the Today show Friday morning.
Marcus filmed his son after he started giggling over the paper ripping and the 44-second video on YouTube now has almost 5.9 million views!
“All of the sudden, he started bursting out laughing next to me, which is great; it really lifted my spirits,” Marcus explained. “I turned and thought, ‘Oh, I’ll grab my camera and tape it to send to mom at work.’ He just went crazy.”
The video was actually helped made famous by Alyssa Milano, who is pregnant with her husband David Bugliari. She Tweeted the video writing, “If this post doesn’t make you smile, check your pulse.”
Marcus says he only has one regret about the now famous video.
“If I knew this was going to happen, I wouldn’t have had him in his pink outfit,” the dad told St. Louis Today. “I’m going to have a lot of explaining to do when Micah grows up.”
Watch Micah’s appearance on Today below! Matt Lauer even took some paper to see if Micah would laugh when it was ripped again.
