WATCH: Teresa Giudice Describes Horrifying Prison Experience — ‘It Was Hell!’

Teresa Giudice sat down for an interview with Good Morning America and described the unlivable prison conditions she had to endure during her 11.5-month sentence.

“I mean there was mold in the bathrooms. There was not running water constantly. The showers were freezing cold ... I mean, the living conditions were really horrible. Like, horrible,” Teresa told Amy Robach.

The reality TV star said that some nights there wasn’t even heat. “It was hell,” Teresa explained.

The 43-year-old served time at the Federal Correctional Institution-Danbury in Danbury, Connecticut and was released December 2015.

Teresa managed her time inside by keeping busy with her weekly job. “I had a job in the kitchen. I wiped tables after breakfast. Three days a week, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. My first paycheck was $1.60,” she said.

The mother-of-four admitted that maybe she needed her jail time to reflect and “become, you know, a better person and grow and just to be a better mother, better wife, better daughter, better human being through all this.”

She now has a tell-all memoir out, Turning the Tables: From Housewife to Inmate and Back Again, which exposes the drama that went on inside the prison. From violent fights to women having sex in her room, Teresa reveals what her life was like.
