Two Jessicas are both powerful players in Hollywood, but Jessica Simpson says she’d be nothing if it wasn’t for her best pal Jessica Alba,  has exclusively learned.

And Alba’s advice to Simpson has run the gamut from fashion tips to how to perform a lap dance!, a source told . Both are now happily married moms, but Alba, 33, has had 34-year-old Simpson’s back for years, according to the source.

Simpson, who was married to singer Nick Lachey from 2002-2006, was in a sad state afterwards but picked herself up with a little help from her famous friend.

“When Jess split from Nick, it was Alba who pulled her together,” the source claims. “Alba gave her advice on everything from her representation, her image, fashion, diet and how to look classy. She warned her off clubs and told her to resist the temptation to go wild in Hollywood.”

In fact, Simpson launched a successful shoe and fashion line and has never looked back.

The Fantastic Four actress, who also runs the environmentally correct baby product business The Honest Company, also helped Simpson land her husband, former football player Eric Johnson, the source reveals.

Alba, who is married to Cash Warren, “was the one who encouraged Jessica to give Eric a chance, so she’ll always be grateful to her and is convinced she wouldn’t be married without Alba.”
