The housewife who brought fans “Money Can’t Buy You Class” and “Chic, C’est La Vie” is back with another catchy single that’s bound to have everyone singing out loud!
Real Housewives of New York star LuAnn de Lesseps exclusively opened up to OKMagazine.com about her song “Girl Code” and what inspired the tune.
“I love singing, I love music and it’s always a thrill for me to be inspired to do a new song,” de Lesseps said at Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
In a trailer for the season, The Countess told co-star Heather Thomson to “be cool, don’t be all, like, uncool” when she confronted de Lesseps for bringing men back to their hotel in Turks and Caicos.
When Andy Cohen saw de Lesseps say the catchphrase, he encouraged her to make a song about the experience.

“Something very offensive happened to me and I feel like this is therapeutic for me to sing about it,” she said. “You don’t cross certain lines and that’s so important to me. I wanted to send that message out that there is a girl code. You don’t do certain things with your girlfriends if you want to keep them.”
