Surprise! Neil Patrick Harris and his longtime love David Burtka escaped to Italy this weekend to tie the knot!

The couple, parents to adorable twins Harper and Gideon who will turn 4 on October 15th, have been together for more than 10 years. Neil shared the good news with his 9 million twitter followers this morning:

According to E! News, their friend and How I Met Your Mother producer and director Pam Fryman officiated the ceremony, with a performance at the reception by none other than Elton John. A rep for Neil confirmed the big news, saying, "We happily confirm that Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka were married in Italy in an intimate ceremony surrounded by their close friends and family."
