On a sunny Saturday at the Santa Monica Pier, celebrities and their families joined host at the CelEBration on the Pier to Benefit the EB Medical Research Foundation for a day of carnival rides and games. Courteney and husband ’s involvement in the organization began when her manager’s nephew contracted the rare skin disease known as Epidermolysis Bullosa.
“He’s a wonderful kid name Brandon and I saw him and it broke my heart, and I thought if I could do to anything to help I would,” Courteney, 43, tells OK! “They started this foundation and I’m a part of it, and since then, it’s really taken off. We’ve raised a lot of money and there are major strides that have happened, and hopefully, next month we’ll get an FDA approval of a first clinical trial.”
It was a fun day at the pier and David even hopped in the dunk tank to help raise money. “He’s going to get dunked real bad,” David’s sister, , tells OK!.
Keeping true to her word, she went over to the tank with her daughter, Harlow, 4, and pushed the target without attempting to throw the ball at it. “Charity work does not mean it’s not going to be fun.” In all seriousness, Patricia, 39, says, “David and Courteney have been really active and I’m very proud of them for doing that.”
