Russell Crowe to Be Baptized

Nov. 6 2007, Published 12:15 p.m. ET
In an interview in the new issue of Men's Journal, two-time Oscar-winner Russell Crowe says that, at the age of 43, he's decided it's time to be baptized along with his 1-year-old son Tennyson.
"My mom and dad decided to let my brother and me make our own decisions about God when we got to the right age," the actor explains. "I started thinking recently, 'If I believe it is important to baptize my kids, why not me?' "
Russell says that the ceremony, which he hopes will happen within the year, will take place at the chapel he constructed on his Australian ranch, the same chapel where Tennyson's older brother, Charlie, was baptized.
"I do believe there are more important things than what is in the mind of a man," says the married father of two. "There is something much bigger that drives us all. I'm willing to take that leap of faith."
