Ahead of the premiere of the 13th season of the ABC hit series, The Bachelor's Jason Mesnick says he has become engaged to one of the women who competed for his love on the reality show, set to air on Monday.
Mesnick, 32, is a single dad who made it to the final rose ceremony on the season finale of The Bachelorette. After DeAnna Pappas sent him packing for snowboarder Jesse Csincsak (the couple has since parted ways), Mesnick decided to try his own luck on the show as The Bachelor – something he now says has made him empathetic towards Pappas.

Mesnick says his choice of a future bride also had to suit the other person in his life – his 3-year-old son, Tyler. The handsome accountant says he consulted his son's pediatrician and a psychologist before exposing him to the show's unique situation and any separation involved.
''He's always in the forefront of my mind,'' Mesnick said.
