Kate Walsh’s marriage was flatlining from the start, say friends of the Private Practice star and her movie executive husband, Alex Young.
“They fought like cats and dogs,” a source tells OK!, of the doomed 15 month union.
“Even before they got married, they were always bickering. And not over anything important; it was always stupid, petty things.”
The pair tied the knot on Sept. 1, 2007, in a lavish Ojai, Calif., wedding featured exclusively in OK!, but pals of the couple were hardly surprised when Alex, 37, filed for divorce from Kate, 41, on Dec. 9.

“Shocked? I was more shocked to hear that they were getting married,” the pal says.
“They loved fighting because the making up was great.”
Looking back, it didn't sound like things were off to such a promising start.
Just five weeks into their wedding, Kate said on the Ellen Degeneres Show that she didn't feel like she knew where to go with the relationship.
"There was this kind funny moment after we got married, all of the hoopla's over, and you get home and you're like, 'We're married. Cool, what do we do now?'," Kate, who plays Dr. Addison Montgomery on the ABC show, told Ellen.
