UV Light Therapy Benefits

The SolaWave UV Therapy Wand is a manifestation of the latest trend in at-home treatments. The tool’s technology is based on the benefits of targeted phototherapy, a.k.a. UV light therapy. While UV light technology is not a new concept, and the potential benefits from use for conditions like eczema and psoriasis have been supported by the medical community since the 1980s, it has not been until recent years that the innovative solution found a way into the homes of consumers. Advancements in technology and the ever-booming skincare industry are to thank for harnessing the power of UV therapy into compact and user-friendly designs, just like SolaWave.

No need to make a trip to the medical spa to see the results from using SolaWave. A warm therapeutic facial massage stimulates skin cell growth and turnover while aiding to depuff and firm skin. According to SolaWave, the tool utilizes a technique that applies “low-level wavelengths of visible red LEDs to rejuvenate skin.” The targeted red LEDs minimizes breakouts, the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, dullness and acne marks.

SolaWave UV Red Light Therapy Wand retails for $79.99 at marshalls.com.

Treat your skin with every pass of the SolaWave UV Red Light Therapy Wand by SolaWave. The tech-inspired beauty tool utilizes two forms of light therapy to target and tackle multiple common skin concerns such as anti-aging, fine lines and wrinkles, acne, discoloration and overfull dullness.

The wand’s tip is moisture-activated, so you'll never fumble with on/off switches. For best results, SolaWave recommends using the brand’s Renew Complex Activating Serum — however, any serum, face oil or lightweight moisturizer that creates a “slip” on the skin’s barrier can be used. When we tried it out, a visible glow and boost in complexion was noticeable after just one use. After three uses, post-acne marks and melasma discoloration were dramatically reduced, improving overall tone and blemishes.

PROS:

  • Gives skin a gentle massage using therapeutic warmth.
  • Depuffing benefit is great for under eye areas.
  • Leaves skin with a healthy glow after one use.
  • Diminishes fine lines, wrinkles and discoloration with use 3x/week for at least 14 days.
  • Rotating wand allows total control during use and the ability to target specific trouble spots.

CONS:

  • Does not include SolaWave serum that’s recommended for optimal results.
  • Small learning curve upon first use, specifically the need to be careful when turning the wand’s head.
  • Best visible results require daily use.
