Rihanna Joins 'Hope for Haiti Now' Telethon

With celebrities from far and wide reaching out to help those in need following the massive earthquake in Haiti on Jan. 12, Rihanna has been added to the list of volunteers as she gets set to perform at the Hope for Haiti Now Telethon on Friday.

Among the list of contributing performers, Rihanna will sing a brand new song entitled, “Stranded,” alongside Jay-Z, Bono, and The Edge of U2 to raise money for those in need according to the Associated Press.

After becoming upset with, “great sadness,” for the people of Haiti, Rihanna sat down with Fredrik Skavlan on an Oslo talk show to express her grief, especially seeing as though her native hometown of Barbados is not far off.

“In the Caribbean, we think of ourselves as one big family, one country. We're all together. We all represent each other,” Rihanna gushed in Oslo according to AP, “It’s like it happened in Barbados.”

Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief will be broadcast in London on Friday, with supporter Wyclef Jean reporting from N.Y. and George Clooney from L.A.

All donations received from the telethon, where Coldplay will also be performing, will be sent to UNICEF and Oxfam America and Partners in Health in order to aid those suffering in Haiti.
